In this guide, you'll learn how to pull the latest secret changes. It only takes a few minutes.
You should have a .env.me
and .env.project
file in the root directory of your project. You don't necessarily need to have the .env
file - it will be written (or overwritten) when we pull.
Run the command npx dotenv-vault pull.
That's it! You will see the latest changes pulled down to your .env
file.
Side note: You might have to restart your application server for the .env
file changes to take effect. This is typical for Rails applications and many NodeJS applications.
Next, learn how to add team members and configure Slack notifications like a Dotenv pro.
Thank you for using Dotenv. We hope you are getting stoked on it! π
